Welcome to Boulder Shadow Leather

My first experience with leather was when I bought a journal at an arts festival in Coconut Grove, FL.  I loved the smell and feel of the leather,  so I bought some Holstein and made a notebook portfolio cover.  My friends commented on how unique it was and asked me to make them one too.  So began my journey...  I find it very therapeutic to work and shape the leather, and continue to improve my techniques through leather carving, book binding & stitching classes.   

I use all types of leather such as veg tan, heavy Kodiak, Bison, Holstein, alligator, stingray and lizard.  

My specialty is hand cut & sewn writing journals using Coptic and Long stitch to bind handmade, recycled, watercolor and heavy weight papers.   

Additional creations include book covers, tablet portfolios, trays, eyeglass cases, gun & knife holders , bags, smaller accessories and wall art.  All items can be personalized.
